About
Why a town?
Most of the internet is a feed. Weldon3D is a place: somewhere to go for a short spell of focus, a walk, or a few minutes of winding down, with other people around but nobody shouting.
What it is
A small island town drawn in your browser with WebGL. Everything in it, from the cottages to the sound of rain, is generated by code on this site. The town itself uses no outside services and shows no ads or trackers; the public pages around it, like this one, carry one small banner from WeldonPC's own ad network (see Privacy).
What it is not
It is not a social network, a game with a store, or a metaverse. There is no chat, no in-game money and nothing to win. Talking is a phrasebook on purpose: it keeps the town friendly without anyone having to watch over it.
Who runs it
Weldon3D is made and run by WeldonPC, a small computer services company in northeast Ohio. It runs on its own: there are no moderators because there is nothing to moderate.
How it pays for itself
The Resident Pass, $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year, pays for the server and new places, together with that one banner on the public pages. During the preview it is free while payments are being set up.
