Places

A town map, in words.

The island is about two hundred steps across. Here is what you will find, and how to get around.

01

The Plaza

The fountain in the middle of town, where most people meet. Open the phrasebook with T or the Talk button and say hello; tap an emote to wave, cheer, sit or dance. Other visitors appear as lantern-carriers in their own colours.

02

The Studio

The lilac building to the west. Walk to its door and press E (or tap Enter) for a focus timer, a notepad that stays in this browser, and procedural rain (free) or brown noise (with the Resident Pass). Residents log their focus minutes.

03

The Cabin

Up on the east hill. Inside: a 4-7-8 breathing guide that paces you with a glowing ring, and sleep sounds that fade out on a timer. The town lights dim around you.

04

Lantern Hill and the hunt

Ten lanterns are placed around the island by today's date, the same for everyone. The clock starts at the first one. Walk into a lantern to pick it up.

05

The river and its two bridges

A small river rises at a spring below the Cabin and runs west, between the Plaza and the pier, to the sea. Cross it on the Pier Bridge or on the Hill Bridge on the way to Lantern Hill; the water is not for walking. Press G (or Goals) for today's goals by the river: the River Round, six paper boats on the banks, the Lamplighter's riverside lamps, and Work and rest. They reset at midnight Eastern Time. When someone else is in town you can join a shared goal: light both bridges, carry a lantern down the river in turns, or meet for a river photo that stays on your device.

06

Resident Lane

The row of cottages south of the Plaza. Residents see their own cottage here in their own colours; visitors see the lane as it is.

07

The pier

North shore. Good for watching the water. That is all it is for.
